1. QFS Chemist

Main Function

  • Performing all the analysis of incoming Raw materials, Packing Matrials and Ingredients.
  • Performing all the analysis of in-process products from feed till output.
  • Performing all the analysis of finished products, give Clearence and release of FP,
  • Issue reports and certificates of analysis whenever needed.
  • Preparing NPD samples and product evaluation
  • Production & Factory Quality Inspections Including Cleaning, Personal hygiene & Pest control.

 

Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities

Operational:
  1. Perform the proper analysis for procured crude and RBD oils, in-process oil from feed till output from the Deodorizer, and refined oils (FFA, Color, PV, IV, and MIV) as per the set Quality plans, and recommend actions corresponding to the analysis results, whether to accept or reject or further processing is needed.
  2. Online Filling Inspections and Reports preparations
  3. Online Pet Bottles production inspections.
  4. New supplies Test samples evaluations
  5. Analyze retrieved oil from ships or tankers and issue a Certificate of Analysis.
  6. Analyze oil samples received from Refinery as requested.
  7. Issue batch number and certificates of analysis.
  8. Monitor production runs and raises QC deviations any noticeable change or diversion in the process.
  9. Prepare oil samples for Customer approvals and issue certificate of analysis requested by Sales team and approved by department manager.
  10. Analyze shelf-life samples and compile monthly reports.
  11. Perform water analysis in All stages.
  12. Maintain the stock inventory records of chemicals and laboratory glassware.
  13. Assist other chemists in the analysis of oil in different stages as directed.
  14. Cooperate with ADVOC with respect to any instructions and/or actions taken to protect its employees.
  15. Report to immediate supervisor any situation which could possibly present a hazard and cannot be corrected by himself.
  16. Report on all OSH related incidents and work-related injuries.

Reporting:

  • Daily and monthly analysis reports.
  • Batch certificates.
  • Shelf life monthly reports.

Job Requirements

Education: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in chemical, Food Science and Technology or equivalent.

Training/ Certification: Knowledge in edible oil and chemical analysis tools and equipment

Experience: 1 -2 years of work experience in Edible Oil  industry business or similar.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge on Food safety Management system
  • Knowledge in laboratory procedures and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Knowledge in Chemicals’ environmental and health & safety impacts and hazards.
  • Basic First aid/Basic Fire safety

  • Quality of procured raw material analysis.
  • Quality of in process and finished goods analysis
  • Response to analysis requests.
